Who doesn’t love this place? They have everything a vacationer can want. This is my personal favorite vacation spot in the world. It’s hard to get enough of this place. You have the shores of Copacabana and Ipanema surrounding you with beauty. Don’t forget about Christ the Redeemer, lush rain forests, and green mountains. The English language is very prevalent around here so it will be easy for any American to get around.
Cartagena, Colombia- Stunning beaches, brilliantly colored buildings, and cobblestone streets all come together in this beautiful place. This historic old town is the safest in the country. So if you want to visit Columbia this is the city you want to be in.
Lima, Peru- This is one of America’s best-kept secrets. This city has more than 9 million citizens and has some of the best cuisine on the planet. History buffs will love the unique attractions including museums and colonial architecture. Lima has something for everyone. This city has a great culture and plenty of attractions for visitors.
Costa Rica- With beautiful rain forests, beaches, and wildlife. Costa Rica has breathtaking landscapes and scenery. There is a whole lot of outdoor activities you can do here including: zip lining, hiking, and surfing. You can even watch a volcano erupt (I did). Be prepared to see some very interesting and colorful wildlife in this beautiful place.
Galapagos Islands, Equador- These islands are known for their exotic wildlife. This place was made famous by Charles Darwin during his legendary voyage. If you’re interested in interesting wildlife, this is the number one place in the world to go. Your days will stay busy with the amount of tours available.
Cusco, Peru- Here is known as the archaeological capital of the Americas. Here the city streets share centuries old Baroque cathedrals and exquisite stone masonry. Cusco has come out of the shadow of Peru’s capital, Lima.
Santiago, Chile- This is the capital of Chile. The city is known for its towering skyscrapers, rolling pin yards, and soaring mountains. The city has experienced an economic boom reinventing the city’s image. Here you will find Latin American character along with a European flair.
Torres Del Paine National Park, Chile- This national park is at the southern tip of the Andes and Chile. It is one of the most impressive sites in the southern hemisphere and is home to some of the best hiking trails in the world. The park is made up of lakes, glaciers, rivers, forests, and many types of creatures including foxes, pumas, and a wide variety of birds.
Buenos Aires, Argentina- This city is known as the Paris of South America. Visitors here experience European charm with a South American twist. This sophisticated city features wide boulevards, grand museums, and neoclassical architecture. This is a cosmopolitan city with plenty of artists, dancers, and soccer enthusiasts.
Belize- This small South American country has an unmatched diverse natural beauty. Mayan ruins, lush rain forests, and beautiful coral reefs decorate this blended getaway spot. Hundreds of tiny islands with snorkeling and scuba diving attractions along with a laid-back atmosphere make this a relaxing place for just about anyone.
